Mumbai: With Aadhaar becoming mandatory for carrying out a number of tasks, it is essential to get one.
Aadhaar is a 12 digit unique-identity number issued to all Indian residents based on their biometric and demographic data.
From insurance policies to mobile SIM, the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has mandated the Aadhaar for carrying out a number of tasks.
Aadhaar Kendras or Aadhaar service centres help citizens get the Aadhaar number, which is issued by the Unique Identity Authority of India (UIDAI) and serves as the verification document for all Indians.
Here’s how you can find the closest Aadhaar enrollment centres:
Step 1: Visit the official website of Aadhaar – uidai.gov.in
Step 2: Click on ‘Enrollment and update centres in banks and post offices’
Step 3: You will be redirected to a new search page, where you will get three search criteria –State, Pincode and search box.
Step 4: Under ‘State’ search criteria, you will be asked to input your state, district, sub-district, and village town city.
Step 5: Under ‘Pincode’, you will be asked to input your area Pincode.
Step 6: If you select ‘search box’, you will be asked to input your city.
However, in all the search criteria, you can choose to ‘tick’ or ‘untick ‘only ‘permanent centres’ option. If you tick on it, only permanent Aadhaar Kendras will appear.
Step 7: A verification code will appear. You will be required to type the text as you see it on screen. Once you fill in all the details, a whole list of Aadhaar Kendras will appear.
